Moving into the future, there will continue to be many formal and informal education, training, and development programs that address ways to improve leadership for modern organizations. Some programs will be evidence based, meaning that their effectiveness will be supported by research and empirical findings. Also, there will continue to be programs that provide great training on the input side but may not always provide effective ways to follow through and determine their true impact on organizational leadership performance. However, one of the most recent innovations we have chosen to include here, as a thought-provoking sidebar to end this chapter, is the emerging integration of AI into the leadership development process. This information is included to demonstrate how rapidly technology is taking a highly instrumental role in preparing, mentoring, and developing future leaders.
