Teacher Professional Development

Human Kinetics offers online teacher professional development courses for K-12 school district teachers and administrators providing specialized training on physical education, health education, adapted physical education, and dance education topics. Districts may make institutional purchases to provide professional development for faculty and staff; individual teachers can take the course on their own schedule; or college instructors may want students to purchase the online course as a supplemental resource for teacher education courses. The online courses include facilitator’s guides, videos, and activities for teacher training days when K-12 school districts opt to have teachers take the course as a group on a development day to learn and discuss the material together. Once teachers complete the interactive modules, they can take a course-ending exam and download a certificate of completion to submit to their administrators for professional development credit. Topics for teacher professional growth include mental health, developing effective individualized education programs (IEPs), trauma-informed teaching practices, and other health education topics.
