Community Partners
Human Kinetics gives back to the local Champaign-Urbana Community through a variety of partnerships. Employees enjoy volunteering at local events and supporting our local charities.
Current partnerships include:
Girls on the Run
Human Kinetics is pleased to support Girls on the Run Champaign County. Girls on the Run inspires individuals of all abilities to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.

Kicks For CU Kids
Kicks for CU Kids is a not-for-profit program that provides youth from the greater Champaign-Urbana area with an essential tool to pursue a life of health and fitness. The goal of the organization is to provide professionally fitted running shoes and running socks to local youth runners who participate through organized running programs in races associated with the Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend, held annually in April. Kicks for CU Kids was created to address a gap in opportunity that exists for some youngsters in the Champaign-Urbana area, who are underrepresented in the Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend, which is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Uniting Pride
Human Kinetics is pleased to announce a partnership with Uniting Pride, an impressive organization that has been at the forefront of advocating for the equality, wellness, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ communities in Champaign County since its founding in 2009.
Uniting Pride has played a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity and support within the local community through a range of initiatives, including support and social groups, community-building events, educational workshops, local advocacy, and resource referrals. Their unwavering commitment to creating a Champaign County where all who identify as sexual and/or gender minorities can live full, healthy, and vibrant lives aligns with HK's commitment to DEIB.
As we support Uniting Pride, we look forward to combining our strengths to amplify our impact on the community. Together, we aim to further advance the cause of equality and inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone feels empowered to be their authentic selves.

Café in the Community
Through generous staff donations and the use of our on-site cafeteria, Human Kinetics has been able to partner with several local organizations to provide meals to those in need.
To date, we have delivered over 800 hot meals to people served by three organizations: CU at Home, Men's SAFE House, and Courage Connection. All three agencies are very grateful for this program, as are the people who get to enjoy some of Chef Albie's great food each week.

Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon

Previous partnerships include:
Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club Fitness Olympiad
Volunteers enjoyed working with the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club to help oversee fitness events and coordinate our water and snack donations during the Fitness Olympiad. This was a fun event for all that attended, and every participant received a medal and certificate!

Twin Cities Twosome & Not Your Average Joe Race
After 25 years of hosting the Twin Cities Twosome Race, Human Kinetics changed the name of this annual event in 2013 to Not Your Average Joe Race in honor our colleague, Joe Seeley who passed in October 2012 from Leukemia.
In total, the races helped raise $175,000 for the benefiting charities - Courage Connection, Center for Women in Transition, The Crisis Nursery, and the T.I.M.E.S. Center.
Operation Backpack
To help make the holiday season a little brighter for those less fortunate, employees donated winter clothing, toiletries, snacks, and other items to fill backpacks, which were then provided to the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen.
Mission Day
To further support the communities in which we live, we offer all employees a Mission Day, which allows employees a paid day off work to volunteer with a public school or nonprofit organization.
