You must log in to watch this webinar recording.

This webinar by Dr. Kraemer explores the various facets of athlete development. It delves into the approach towards athletes at different stages of their careers now that the responsibility to enhance their performance and prevent injury has been assumed. The discussion covers which elements of a program are currently in place and what needs to be developed to align with the latest evidence-based practices. The focus is also  on developing the human machine and the "athlete composite." It addresses how to work with an athlete’s limitations by using assessments and evaluations to guide sport-specific and position-specific development. The importance of unified messaging and effective communication by the athlete development team is crucial for timely interventions during the athlete’s macrocycle of training and competition. The readiness to compete through effective strength and conditioning programs that target key variables in the neuromuscular system is essential for adaptive changes throughout the athlete's career. The varied roles of the athlete development team are crucial for optimizing the dynamic athlete composite, which changes daily, either positively or negatively, in response to their training or competition readiness. Recovery is emphasized as a key component of both training and competition, and it is one of the most critical aspects of an athlete development program. Finally, the webinar discusses what models can be effective in a variety of situations to help an athlete development team enhance the athlete’s potential for performance, injury prevention, and overall self-esteem.
