Refine training techniques, boost sport performance, and master Olympic-style weightlifting.

Olympic-style weightlifting has roots going all the way back to Greece in the sixth century BC. While it may look very different today, it remains an exciting, challenging way to incorporate lifting into any training routine. The Guide to Olympic-Style Weightlifting: From Novice to Next Level is the essential resource for individuals aiming to understand the training methods and for coaches looking to instruct their athletes in this style of weightlifting.

Not only will you learn about the origins of Olympic-style weightlifting, you will build a strong foundation by learning about the essential skills and techniques leading to success. Unlike other resources, this book explores advanced concepts, offering you a more comprehensive understanding of the sport. The book provides the following:

  • Over 50 online video clips (accessed via a code included in all books) demonstrating the primary exercises, main variations, and common errors
  • Over 40 exercises with comprehensive movement details and corresponding photos
  • Common errors and corrections so individuals and coaches can improve exercise execution
  • 6 assessments to determine an individual’s readiness to begin weightlifting
  • 6 detailed training programs for different experience levels
  • Risk mitigation exercises for common shoulder, low back, knee, hip, elbow, and wrist injuries

As a unique form of anaerobic movement, Olympic-style weightlifting offers a plethora of benefits to lifters of all ages and levels. Practiced safely, this sport can strengthen muscles, bones, and ligaments as well as instill a sense of discipline and self-confidence. Written for individuals to use alone and for coaches to use with athletes, this book takes you beyond the basics with guidance from professionals.

Whether you are looking to boost performance in another sport or take up Olympic-style weightlifting as a primary form of exercise, The Guide to Olympic-Style Weightlifting has all the tools you need to hone your strength and skills.
