Alisa R. James, EdD, is a professor at State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport. Before entering higher education, James spent eight years teaching elementary and high school physical education. In higher education since 2002, she has taught physical education teacher education and served as an associate dean.

James is a member of SHAPE America and New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYS AHPERD). In 2018, she received the Teacher Education Honor Award from SHAPE America. She is a past president of NYS AHPERD and has served on both their executive board and their board of directors. James has received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching as well as being a nominee for the U.S. Professor of the Year Award.

In her free time, James enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with family. She lives in Brockport, New York.

Sheri M. Treadwell, PhD, is an associate professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport. Prior to entering higher education, Treadwell taught junior high and high school physical education and health for 10 years. She has been working in physical education teacher education since 2011.

Treadwell is a member of SHAPE America, Association Internationale des Écoles Supérieures d’Éducation Physique (AIESEP), and the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYS AHPERD). She has served on the executive council of NYS AHPERD in various roles.

In her spare time, Treadwell enjoys golf, bike riding, watercolor painting, and time spent with her family and pets. She resides in Brockport, New York.
