Each year, countless new and rebranded supplements hit the market, often accompanied by flashy marketing campaigns that promise miraculous results. Navigating this landscape and attempting to find safe and effective options can be daunting.

Dietary Supplements in Sport Performance is your trusted guide, cutting through the noise with evidence-based answers to the most common questions. This resource, authored by sport nutrition and supplement experts Kimberly Mueller and Lonnie Lowery, provides clear and concise descriptions for over 350 of the most popular supplements.

For each supplement, you'll find the following:
  • What it is and how it works
  • Common names and food sources
  • Potential performance benefits
  • Research studies and outcomes
  • Practical applications for dosing
  • Drug interactions and safety concerns
Additionally, you’ll find the latest on competing in extreme environments and guidance for individuals with special dietary needs, such as diabetics, vegetarians, or those with food allergies. The book also includes valuable information on the regulation of supplements, tips for reading research and choose high-quality brands, and an extensive list of references for further study and research.

Organized alphabetically for quick reference, the book also features a supplement finder to help you locate the right supplements for a specific purpose, such as recovery, endurance, or strength. Many supplements are cross-referenced by both scientific and popular names for ease of use.
