    About the Author

    Mike McGuigan, PhD, CSCS,*D, is a professor of strength and conditioning at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand. From 2009 through 2012, he was a sport scientist with High Performance Sport New Zealand, where he worked with many elite athletes. He has worked in a variety of academic roles in universities in Australia and the United States. McGuigan is an associate editor for the Journal of Australian Strength and Conditioning, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, and International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance.

    McGuigan lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
