    About the Author

    Ellen Coleman, MA, MPH, RD, CSSD, is recognized for her clinical, academic, and publishing experience. A graduate of the California Polytechnic State University (BS in dietetics with honors), Loma Linda University (MPH in nutrition), and the University of California at Davis (MA in exercise physiology), she has taught nutrition courses at numerous universities in Southern California and published articles in popular and professional journals. Her book Eating for Endurance (Bull Publishing) has won wide acclaim, and she is actively sought for media interviews and speaking engagements before lay and professional groups. Currently the nutrition consultant for the Sport Clinic in Riverside, California, Ellen is a certified specialist in sport dietetics. She has competed in running and cycling and finished the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon twice. A member of the American College of Sports Medicine, she is past chair of the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association (SCAN) and received the 1994 SCAN Achievement Award.
