For more than 50 years, Winnick taught undergraduate and graduate courses in adapted physical education at Brockport in addition to developing and coordinating programs for adapted physical education. He also directed nationwide research projects related to the physical fitness of people with disabilities and was involved in the publication of the Brockport Physical Fitness Test and support materials.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Winnick had been president and a board member of the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals With Disabilities and a consultant for the U.S. Department of Education since 1969. He also served as a reviewer for several professional journals, had more than 70 publications to his credit, and was a member of SHAPE America.
