Evidence-Based Practice in Athletic Training CE Course provides essential information on the fundamentals of evidence-based practice (EBP) for certified athletic trainers looking to earn EBP CEUs as required by the Board of Certification (BOC).

This dynamic course merges an informative text with peer-reviewed journal articles for a deep understanding of evidence-based practice. Content covers research evaluation and the implementation of evidence-based practice in athletic training clinical practice. Athletic trainers will learn to formulate clinical questions, perform research on current studies, analyze the available data, and apply the principles in their practice in order to provide the best and most accurate care possible. The study guide is divided into units, and each unit includes a journal article from the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation (JSR). A series of 15 to 20 multiple-choice or true-or-false questions conclude each unit to review and reinforce concepts. A final exam consists of 50 multiple-choice and true-or-false questions that address concepts throughout the course materials. Upon passing the exam, individuals may print out and submit a certificate for continuing education credits.

Evidence-Based Practice in Athletic Training CE Course supports the initiative in the athletic training profession to integrate the best new research and evidence into clinical decision making with the goal of improving patient outcomes. Certified athletic trainers completing this course may earn continuing education units to apply toward the newly required evidence-based practice category to maintain their certification.
