The Athletic Trainers’ BOC Exam Prep Enhanced Online Course prepares students and individuals for the qualifying exam to become a certified athletic trainer with the

Board of Certification (BOC). The course delves into the complexities of the BOC online examination and allows users to review vital information through interactive questions.

This prep course provides hundreds of online practice questions that mimic the difficulty and range of questions found on the test, as well as extensive references, lists of study resources, and in-depth information on the format and content of the exam. Instead of practicing on paper, students can practice in an online interface that easily translates to the exam and become comfortable and confident with the style of the exam. Students will be tested on foundational knowledge and key concepts that are necessary for becoming a certified athletic trainer through each practice question and subject-specific chapter they encounter.

The Athletic Trainers’ BOC Exam Prep Enhanced Online Course is divided into easily manageable chapters. Chapters 1 to 3 as well as chapter 10 provide logistical help on what to expect before, during, and after the actual exam, including examples of the online interface used in taking the exam, information on registration and policies, study tips and lists of resources, and a sample study calendar to put students at ease and help them feel confident in their preparation.

Chapters 4 to 8 are each devoted to one of the five subject-matter domains that are covered on the exam: injury and illness prevention and wellness protection, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and organizational and professional health and well-being. Each chapter consists predominantly of practice questions in multiple-choice and interactive formats, including multiple-select questions, matching, hotspot, drag-and-drop activities, and image-based multiple-choice. To help students practice real-world application, some questions are grouped into focused testlets that all relate to a central scenario. Upon completing each question, students receive immediate feedback on their answers, and in the case of incorrect answers, resources are provided so that they can find the correct information.

Chapter 9 compiles questions from the various subject-specific chapters into three comprehensive practice exams. These exams mimic the questions and test-taking environment of the actual BOC examination. Students will use the information and skills they have acquired throughout the rest of the text to complete the practice tests. At the conclusion of the practice exam, students are presented with a cumulative score so they can gauge which knowledge areas need improvement.

Athletic Trainers’ BOC Exam Prep Enhanced Online Course is an essential resource for students and individuals looking to be prepared and confident for their athletic trainer certification examination.

This book is very outdated and not helpful for studying for the BOC

    Great material

The questions are great to go through and study. I went through this by myself and with my class, and it prompted great discussion(s) and got us used to the question formats.
The only downfall, is that there is no reasoning for the correct answer or the two references needed for the question. It may be on purpose though, so we will go through our textbooks and find the correct answers and the justification.
