Half of all older adults will develop some form of arthritis in their lifetime. For this growing population, you can learn to alleviate the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis through proper exercises. Exercise and Arthritis, Seventh Edition, provides an understanding of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and spondyloarthropathy; the effect these conditions have on an individual’s well-being; and the role of exercise as part of a treatment program.

It includes a new section on complementary care measures that will help your clients alleviate pain and manage their condition. An anatomy review appendix has been added, which covers the basic joint structures and how various types of arthritis affect these joints. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to assist in providing safe and effective exercise programming for individual clients and group exercise participants who have arthritis.
