Job Summary

A K-12 Sales Manager generates sales in the K-12 education market.  Conducts all aspects of account procurement, management and retention of K12 accounts within a specified territory. Conducts targeted marketing, in-person visits, outbound-calling, and e-mail programs within these assigned markets.

This includes creating call and mass e-mails lists/schedules for customers and prospects, fielding in-bound sales calls, analyzing and reporting results, attending trade shows, targeted in-person visits and program recommendations based on market trends, customer/prospect list options, adoption cycles, and feedback from focus groups. 

*Required Travel: Average of 3-4 weeks/semester for a total of 6-8 weeks/year.

Salary Range: $48,000-$65,000

Essential Functions

  1. Create a strategic territory sales plan and implement strategies and tactics for building business utilizing sales efforts including direct sales calls, email campaigns and phone campaigns in new and established markets.
  2. Manage all sales efforts to an assigned K-12 sales territory.
  3. Manage sales opportunities and overall relationships with accounts.
  4. Assist, as needed, in state adoption situations, providing sales support beyond the boundaries of the assigned territory.
  5. Work closely with internal partners to ensure that new HK products meet customer demand and needs. Provide internal partners with timely customer feedback and competitive intelligence.
  6. Actively participate in quarterly feedback check-ins and expectations check-ins. Participate in staff development opportunities. Consistently meet department and HK performance standards.

Secondary Functions

  1. Advise on potential sales for new products.
  2. Provide timely, accurate reports detailing activities and performance within an assigned territory.
  3. Advise other departments on matters relating to K-12 market needs.
  4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with an extensive group of key customers who may be called upon to serve in an advisory role on new HK product offerings.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required with a Bachelor's in business, education, physical education, or a combination of a degree and coursework therein preferred.

Experience: 1+ years sales/education/publishing experience or a combination thereof required.

2+ years sales experience and/or 1+ years experience in a K-12 school environment preferred.

Salesforce experience preferred.
